Holler

In this episode, I tell my sister about Holler: An Appalachian Apocalypse, a roleplaying game of adventure, rebellion, fairy tale, and gothic horror in Appalachia for Savage Worlds¹. We explore the dark and twisted world of the Holler, where the mysterious "Big Boys" own the mines, mills, and logging operations and subject the workers to extraordinary dangers and oppression². We also talk about the strange creatures and phenomena that haunt the land, such as demons, mutants, haints, and the toxic fog known as the Blight. And we discuss how the resistance of miners, granny women, gougers, moonshiners, bluegrass pickers, and holy rollers can fight back and reclaim their culture and freedom.

Hi! I’m Beth. I love exploring the dark and disturbing aspects of history, horror, hauntings, true crime, and other gruesome and disturbing facts. I spend most of my time researching and learning about these different topics so I can share them with my brother and my listeners. When I’m not digging into the horrifying and spooky facts, my brother teaches me about table top role playing games.
